They speak in both Filipino and English languages. 5. Work atmosphere, inter-personal relations Lay-out, ventilation, color scheme of office I can work with employees in the office harmoniously, they are very approaching. They are very friendly and fun to work with. You can ask them if you have questions or still don’t know some other matters regarding the operation routines and etc. They will answer your questions or helped you right away. Improvement Areas/Weaknesses The stairway is near in the office, though it is a big help for the staff to goes up and down, it is quite dangerous as well. There are some incidents happened because of the stairs, it has a crack and a small hole every each steps. Some of the conveyors in check in counters are broken and needed to be fixed because it may cause harm to the agents assigned in that area. Other gates should also have escalators and comfort rooms especially to the gates not located in satellite areas like gate 15 where Qatar Airways is located, as I’ve noticed the passengers especially the elders are having a hard time going up and down carrying their baggage. They also need to go up just to go to comfort rooms which in not convenient to the passengers. D. Recommendations After my 400 hours of training in DNATA Inc. I highly recommend especially to Qatar Airways to have other practicumers because that establishment is really a good one. They give the practicumers like us what we really needs to learn regarding operations on how is the proper way of assisting the passenger, how to do checking-in the passenger, and so many. I am sure that some practicumers will gain knowledge from them. It is a stepping stone in our course which is International Travel and Tourism Management. There is a lot opportunities the surely awaits you. I also want to recommend the working area which is the airport NAIA Terminal 1, if there is a possibility to renovate or to reconstruct some area inside and outside the airport. It also needs some new equipment or devices like weighing scale because some of those are not working properly, a computer because i saw some computers not working because it has no keyboard or mouse. An escalator is also a big help for a children, elderly, pregnant women and person with disability to help them to proceed at the gate more convenient. CONCLUSION My training experience was a whole package – I get to know more about the industry I’m getting in, I gained a lot of friends and colleagues, plus I learned a lot in such a way that it will definitely help me with my future career. What I love about Dnata Inc. and Qatar Airways is that they really have a program for on-the-job trainees like me. They have a special attention to those students who undergo training with them. Every day we see flight attendants and pilots. The desire of my heart to work with people like them started at the moment I saw them first time. There may be routinely works, but what they are doing is what I really want to do. I enjoy every little thing that I am learning every day in the office/airport. I realize that in the real world, you will encounter a lot of people with different attitude and it’s up to you to bend for them or take those in a negative way. All in all, it was a great experience with dnata Inc. and Qatar Airways. They taught me such lessons that I would never forget I step out in the real world. They have really exposed me to the industry in which I will make myself belong in a few months now.

Reaction from the movie FROZEN free essay sample

â€Å"Frozen† was one of my favorite movies so far in my teenage life. It remains to be different from other movies that I had watched. Yes, most Disney movies are almost all about love, love and love for opposite genders but this movie is really not. I mean, it is about love but a kind of love that everyone else can ever be satisfied. This is about the love of a family specifically, the love a sister to another sister and this is what makes this kind of movie different from the rest. In this movie, I honestly became inspired not to crave for any boy and girl relationships. Actually, I never had one yet and do not plan to have one. It tells me that the love coming from my family is already enough for a teenager like me unless I became adult and can’t resist being in love in a person who I will think I am ready to get committed. We will write a custom essay sample on Reaction from the movie FROZEN or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page Since I am referring to a love coming from my family or from my own sister, I will stick to this. Even the soundtracks of this movie made me say â€Å"I can relate in every lyrics sang. â€Å" I can say that this movie really stroked me based on what also happened to my sister and I a year ago. They said, it is normal to have fights with your siblings because we can never get away from problems and that became part of our lives. What happened was my sister and I had one fight that really changes everything about us. This is a kind of confidential story but I am willing to share a little. We grew up in different walls, I lived with my aunt since our mom left us and she lived with my grandmother for almost three to five years and went back to us when she reached sixth grade. Our house is not too far from the house where my grandmother lives. It was just like eight houses away from our house and we were just like neighbors. It’s just that sometimes during weekends; they are going to our house in the province. Everything was fine between us. We can still meet because were in the same school. The only thing that was different that time was our treatment of discipline. I was disciplined by my aunt and she was spoiled by my grandmother. Time came when she reached the sixth grade and she was with us already. She was okay and we are really in good vibes. Our fight was not just a fight or a normal fight of a sisterhood. Well, it was my fault of doing something like scold her and made her slept at the house of the Sisters of our school. Yes, she did not go home that time and yes, I was guilty of doing it. I tried sending her messages and apologies just to make her go home. I am guilty of scolding her and afraid what might happened to her. The next day came and I was the one who fetched her from the house of the Sisters. I confessed everything and made apologies to her. It took a lot of days for us to recover because when she went home, she was also scolded again by some people in our house which made me felt very guilty, afraid, and scared and a lot more synonyms of guilt. I was so sorry even I know she also had mistakes of not coming home but in my mind, I blamed myself. She also made apologies to me as I did and became friends or let say more than friends because we are sisters and even people will make our world upside down, we are still sisters. We shared love for each other and bonded a lot more and covered up the things we missed. This is why and how the movie â€Å"Frozen† stroked me. There was a part of the song â€Å"Do you wanna build a snowman? † that says â€Å"We only have each other, just you and me. What are we gonna do? † which really made me remembered everything. We don’t have our real parents with anymore so we only have each other whose going to be with each other no matter what. The story of â€Å"Frozen† is also about looking for a true love but it was the love of a sister to her sister that was true. We have to value and appreciate everything that our sister or even our brother is doing for us especially in our family’s case because at the very end, it will be just my sister and I.

LSD and the Counterculture of the 1960s free essay sample

LSD and Counterculture of the 1960s LSD, lysergic acid diethylamide, is commonly regarded as one of the most powerful substances known to mankind. Its name is almost synonymous with the counterculture and the hippy movement of the 1960s. Though it is now listed as a Schedule I controlled substance, there was a time when LSD widely used and accepted without the harsh social stigma that it carries today Oenkins). LSD, which is known to the younger population as acid, Lucy, and various other colloquial terms, came into being by complete accident. Albert Hofmann, a chemist, irst created the drug in 1938, but it was not until 1943 that Hofmann unintentionally ingested a small dose of the drug leading to one of the greatest discoveries in the history of psychoactive chemicals (History of LSD). From there, LSD exploded with popularity, and by the 1950s psychiatrists were legally administering the drug to patients in order to explore LSDs potential to heal or treat psychological issues. We will write a custom essay sample on LSD and the Counterculture of the 1960s or any similar topic specifically for you Do Not WasteYour Time HIRE WRITER Only 13.90 / page During trials, doctors discovered that LSD did indeed have some potential benefits for mental health patients. Many individuals suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, depression, and alcoholism†among other illnesses†showed gradual improvements in their conditions when given LSD in a clinical setting (Frood). To satisfy the demand for clinical trials of LSD, Sandoz Pharmaceuticals began to manufacture the drug en masse. The ample supply of LSD led to widespread distribution by physicians to trial participants and, unintentionally, the general public (History of LSD). A black market developed, controlled by select groups of unofficial chemists who were able to synthesize the drug. Various musicians, artists, and igures of esteem took up LSD use, describing it to the population as a world- changing and mind-altering experience. Psychedelic drugs became a growing trend, even receiving the endorsement of Harvard psychologist Timothy Leary, who encouraged the youth to turn on, tune in, and drop out. The youth of the generation began to view LSD as nearly harmless, eventually causing the drug to run rampant in the streets, unregulated and, ultimately, legal (Lee, Shlain, et al). Such proliferation of the drug caught the attention of government officials who were interested in the drugs psychoactive effects. Government agencies launched a series of tests, having decorated individuals from both the military and academic worlds take LSD in a controlled setting. The governments motives, at the time, were questionable, with some critics suggesting that the government saw LSD as a means for mass mind control and various other nefarious ideas. Government funded tests continued for a long period of time (Lee, Shlain, et al. ). Their findings, however, did not shed a good light on LSD. Though there was a surplus of clinical information showing the potentially positive effects of LSD, some government studies stated that LSD could actually be a detriment to human mental health†causing depression, anxiety, fear as well as other undesirable side effects. Lawmakers began to think of LSD as an illicit and potentially dangerous substance. With its rampant use among the general population, lawmakers came to fear that the nation was dealing with somewhat of a drug epidemic. LSD was officially banned in the mid-1960s, along with backed by medical reasoning or if it was the result of political disapproval of the drug (History of LSD). The possibility of LSD-related possession charges loomed over the outh of the 1960s, but even still, the number of those using the drug began to grow exponentially. Disenchanted youth looked for a release from the pressures and troubles of society. The disputes over civil rights and the unpopular Vietnam War spearheaded the growing distrust for the American government (Vietnam War Protests). In protest, thousands of young people engaged in the hippie lifestyle, preaching a message of free love and happiness, often coupled with LSD use. Through the hippie counterculture sprang many radical groups that chose to issociate themselves from the modern political structure. Communes and sanctuaries, of sorts, became places where likeminded youth could escape the grips of the traditional social structure (Marks). The infamous Charles Manson, most notably, led a group of young outcasts to live on the fringes of society. LSD and other psychedelic drugs were an integral part of his groups operations. He and his followers turned out to be maniacal and murderous in later years. One of the most notable events in the hippie movement was the legendary Woodstock Festival of 969. Over one hundred thousand people Joined to engage in a three daylong event that promoted peace and happiness and protested the establishment. The psychedelic culture was prevalent at the event, featuring the Grateful Dead†known users of LSD†as well as Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, and others (Rosenburg). As the 1970s began and the turbulence of the 1960s began to dwindle so dwindled the use of LSD. Laws became stricter, hippies grew older, and the supply of LSD in the black market became scarce. New laws prohibiting the use of LSD in any medical xperiments stopped academic use of the drug altogether. Whatever potential benefits could have been gained from controlled use of the drug have now been placed on the backburner. Possibly, with newer and more progressive legislation, laws will be passed that will allow the untapped possibilities of psychedelic drugs to be explored. Whether one maintains a liberal or a conservative viewpoint towards experimental drug use, there is no denying that LSD played a major role in the legacy of the 1960s as one of the most turbulent and exciting decades in American history.

Ganhdi essays

Ganhdi essays Gandhi is the true story of one mans devotion to his religion, he also helped to open a whole new aspect of the very different ways of the Hindu religion. The movie portrayed Gandhi as a man of courageous actions and strong will to pave the path for his people. Gandhi was ready and willing to do anything and everything for his country even sacrificing his own life. He stood up for the people by addressing the British government of the unfair justice that the people were living. This film had a huge affect on me. Before seeing it, I had a very limited understanding of who Gandhi was. I was simply in awe that someone like Gandhi accomplished what he accomplished in the amount of time he did. The film showed how to deal with a violent situation with non-violence. Im now a firm believer in that the best ways to achieve liberty, equality, and justice is through non-violent means. What moved me the most was this quote Gandhi said You must be the change you hope to see in this world. To me this means that change starts with you. This film has a lot to do with human rights of the Indians and others like them against the British Empire. The scene where the crowd of about 1,000+ Indians are fired on by the British soldiers is one of the most brutal things I have ever watched. This deeply affected me because first of all it was hard to watch but second of all I learned that the Indians did not fight back because they were dealing with this situation in a non-violent way. The most important connection this film had to human rights was the way that part of human rights violations comes from the capacity of the people being oppressed. This film also showed the compassion Gandhi had even for those who arrested his and beat him. We could learn a lot form Gandhi in our everyday lives, weather it comes to work, school or relationships with others. This movie raises the question in my mind could this really work? It s...

Unit 5 Individual project 2 Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Unit 5 Individual project 2 - Essay Example Quality can be defined in relation to both technical excellence and humane approach. â€Å"By technical quality care we mean that the patient receives only the procedure tests, or services for which the desired health outcomes exceed the health risks by a sufficiently wide margin; and that each of these procedures or services is performed in a technically excellent manner. The second component of quality care is that all patients wish to be treated in a humane and culturally appropriate manner and be invited to participate fully in deciding about their therapy.† (Robert H.Brook et al). In short quality in health care is fundamentally based on the two above-mentioned factors. â€Å"Getting quality health care can help you stay healthy and recover faster when you become sick. However, we know that often people do not get high quality care. A 2004 study of 12 large US communities found that just over half (54.9%) of people were receiving the care they needed.† (AHRQ Homepage: ). Everywhere, people looking for health care confront the problem that there is no uniform standard to measure quality. Thus it has become imperative to measure quality of care offered by healthcare service providers. Therefore, with a view to help patients choose the right treatment most suited to their personal needs, more and more public and private groups are developing and using quality measures based on the principles of right health plan, the right doctor, the right treatment, the right hospital, the best long term facility. Thus it can be seen that quality measures make available the necessary information which patients can assimilate to help them take a right decision about their treatment. In order to ascertain quality there are certain available parameters such as process measure, outcome measures and structural measures. In order to determine which one of these is the best, a deeper and wider study is called for. Each satisfies certain requirements
